Poetry Manuscript: carne, 1970 (in progress)

Krystal’s full-length poetry manuscript, carne, 1970 was selected as a finalist for the 2021 POL Prize as well as a finalist for the 2021 Colorado Prize for Poetry, judged by Sherwin Bitsui. In 2023, carne, 1970 was also selected as a semi-finalist for the Wisconsin Poetry Series' Brittingham and Felix Pollak Prizes as well as the 2023 Philip Levine Prize for Poetry. In 2024, carne, 1970 was also selected as a finalist for the inaugural Poetic Justice Institute Editor's Prize for a BIPOC writer and as a top 10 finalist for the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize as seen here. Krystal will continue polishing this manuscript with her trusty coffee mug at her side until it finds a home.
